Compact Powerhouse WKB 430: Westermann’s Weed Brush Family Expands

Westermann has been building weed brushes for almost 40 years. Now, the cleaning specialists from Meppen, in the Emsland region, have introduced a new powerful yet compact model for demanding use: the WKB 430. It’s 10 centimeters larger than the WKB 330, which is aimed at private users, but not as bulky as the WKB 660, designed for professional, heavy-duty use.

The WKB 430 is noticeably more manageable than its bigger sister. Equipped with six metal bristle clusters, it clears weeds across a 43-centimeter working width. The interchangeable, standardized metal clusters are arranged on the compact rotating disc so they wear evenly, meaning no additional adjustments are needed during operation. The rotating brushes apply constant, uniform pressure, attacking plants from all sides and removing weeds with their roots in a single pass. This reduces the frequency of weed removal.

Two motor options — the Honda GCV 170 and the industrial Honda GXV 160 — easily handle the pressure on the ground and ensure gentle yet thorough cleaning, even on sensitive surfaces. Its easy handling and maneuverability allow the machine to reach tight spaces, making maintenance and deep cleaning much easier.

The WKB 430 also features a start/stop automatic safety system (a “dead-man” function), which stops the brushes from rotating if the switch is released. A lightweight, impact-resistant plastic guard protects against flying debris or exposed rotating bristles.

This weed brush is suitable for demanding private users, landscaping, agriculture, and municipal use. Large areas can be maintained without difficulty, and even dense weed growth is removed effectively and sustainably.
